A guide to HBF wood samples

As a rep group we love to pull samples for clients. Some might even say we live for it.

Okay, maybe we don’t live for it. But samples are an integral part of our industry, and HBF wood samples are requested often.

If you’ve ever asked for a sample, the question “what product are you interested in” probably sounds familiar. But all HBF woods can be used on all of their products, right?

Not quite.

HBF uses different wood species for different products. The stains can be the same, but we all know grain variations can totally change the look of a product.

So, how can you tell what species of wood is being used? The HBF website has a couple places you can look.

MATERIAL OPTIONS

For example we’ll use Carlyle, a new family of side seating.  You have clicked through the website:Products>Side Seating>Carlyle and are now looking at the product page. If you scroll down, there will be a link called “Material Options” on the right hand side. This link will pull up all finish options, including the type of wood used to construct the chair.

ALL PRODUCTS

Whether you’re looking at Side Seating, Lounge Seating or Bench Seating there will be big red letters indicating an option to look at “All (fill-in-the-blank) Seating.” This will take you to an overview of the product options in that category. Under each product the wood species or metal components used in the piece will be listed.

When in doubt, just give us a ring. Shoot us an email. We’re here to help you navigate through our world of finishes and products.
